Knowing Jesus and Making Him Known

Who We Are

We don't know you yet, but we already love you

SOL Church (Spring of Life) in Sacramento is an American-Ukrainian Baptist community that combines conservative evangelical values with progressive ministry approaches.

We bring together people of different cultures and generations to worship God, grow spiritually, and serve others practically. While preserving Ukrainian traditions, the church opens its doors to a multicultural community, offering services in multiple languages. We adapt to modern realities and strive to be active citizens of the country we live in.

Our Story

How it started?

SOL Church was born in the early 1990s in Sacramento among Ukrainian immigrants who longed to worship God in their native language. Through misunderstanding, tension, and separation, the community was formed as a living church — not a building, but people.

Different cultures, generations, and views became a place where God taught unity. The church gathered in homes, rented spaces, and even parks until, through prayer, sacrifice, and God's provision, its own House of Prayer was built in 2012.

SOL Church grew through serving people: feeding workers, helping immigrants, welcoming the unchurched, raising youth, and intentionally passing leadership to the next generation. Today, it is a multi-service Ukrainian- and English-speaking church united by one mission — love for people and a desire to make the name of Christ known.

A great God continues to write His story through ordinary people.

Our Vision

Where we are going together

1

Know God

The first step is to really understand who God is and build a personal relationship with Him. It's not just a religion, it's a deep topic about real life.

2

Find Freedom

Once you've come to know God, it's time to free yourself from whatever is holding you back. This doesn't just mean past mistakes or bad habits, but anything that keeps you from moving forward. This is a real change process.

3

Discover Your Purpose

Each of us has a unique purpose. Your talents and abilities are no accident. By discovering your purpose, you can live a full life that matters. As Mark Twain said: The two most important days of your life are the day you were born and the day you realized why.

4

Make A Difference

It is important not only to find yourself, but also to use your talents to make the world a better place. This is your way to leave a mark and change the lives of others.

Our Beliefs

What we believe and live by

God

There is one God, eternally existing in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and each possesses all the attributes of God. God is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe and everything in it.

Jesus

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is one with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is our Savior, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross for all sin, rose from the grave after three days, ascended into heaven, and will return to reign as King.

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is one with God the Father and Jesus Christ. Those who accept Christ as Savior receive the Holy Spirit to live within them. The Holy Spirit serves as comforter, guide, and advocate, providing guidance in living, understanding the Bible, and prayerful intercession.

Bible

The Bible is our ultimate authority on Christian beliefs and a guide to living. It is divinely inspired by God, without error, and given so that we may know and understand the truth of God and His love.

Salvation

Salvation is a free gift from God, provided by Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and received through faith. It is available to everyone who accepts Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Faith is expressed through repentance of sin and baptism by immersion.

Humanity

All people are made in the image of God and created to follow Jesus Christ. Humanity has great potential for good but also the freedom to do evil. Disobedience toward God is called sin, and it separates humanity from God.

Eternity

People were created to exist forever. Every person will either live eternally with God in heaven through following Jesus Christ or be eternally separated from God by rejecting Him. Jesus Christ will return to complete God’s plan, judge the world, and establish His eternal Kingdom.

The Church

The Church is the Body of Christ, made up of all believers who have placed their faith in Jesus. The Church exists to worship God, build believers, serve others, and share the message of salvation. We practice water baptism and celebrate the Lord’s Supper as expressions of faith and unity.
